2,600 metric tons of steel pipe used

Gujarat government has issued a release in this regard. It said that the bridge, which is about 300 meters long and 14 meters wide, with an attractive design and LED lights, connects the flower garden on the western end of the riverfront and the arts and culture center being built on the eastern end. Apart from pedestrians, cyclists can also use this bridge to cross the river. It states that 2,600 metric tonnes of steel pipe has been used in the construction of this bridge and the railing is made of glass and steel.

Connectivity will increase for public development

Multi-level car parking has been constructed on both sides of Atal bridge. Once it is commissioned, connectivity will increase for public development on both sides of the bridge i.e. on the east and west banks. The bridge over the Sabarmati River was approved by the Sabarmati Riverfront Development Corporation Limited (SRFDCL) on March 21, 2018. After this, this bridge has been named on the birth anniversary of former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee on 25 December 2021.
