Two suspects in Moosewala murder case were detained from Azerbaijan and Kenya

The Punjab Police had said that it has traced a key accused in the singer Sidhu Musewala murder case, which is in Azerbaijan.

The Ministry of External Affairs said on Thursday that a suspect in the Sidhu Musewala murder case has been detained in Azerbaijan and another in Kenya and India is in touch with the officials of these two countries. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Arindam Bagchi gave this information to reporters in the weekly press conference.

Key accused in Musewala murder case is in Azerbaijan: Punjab DGP

The Punjab Police had said that it has traced a key accused in the singer Sidhu Musewala murder case , which is in Azerbaijan. Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav said that the central agencies assisted the state police in locating the accused Sachin Thapan Bishnoi and efforts are on to bring him back to India.

Before Moosewala's murder, Sachin and another accused gangster Lawrence Bishnoi's brother Anmol Bishnoi had fled the country using fake passports. The DGP said Sachin was in touch with another member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, Goldie Brar, who has claimed responsibility for the singer's murder. He said, he had initially fled to Dubai. With the support of the Indian government and central agencies, we have found out that he is in Azerbaijan. Legal process is going on. We hope that he will be brought to India very soon.

Musewala was shot dead on 29 May in Mansa, Punjab

It is to be known that Musewala was shot dead on 29 May in Mansa district of Punjab. On August 25, the police had filed a 1850-page chargesheet in the Musewala murder case. In this chargesheet, names of 24 out of total 36 accused have been given.
