Jharkhand Cabinet Decisions: A day-long special session of the Legislative Assembly has been called on 5 September amid uncertainty over the membership of Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren. The meeting will start at 11 am. This decision was taken in the cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Hemant Soren. Cabinet Secretary Vandana Dadel gave information about 25 decisions taken in the cabinet held on Thursday. The monsoon session of the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly was adjourned sine die on 5 August 2022. The decision to prorogue the monsoon session of the Vidhan Sabha was postponed in today's meeting.
Panchayat Secretary will become Dalpati of Village Defense Dal
Other important decisions of the cabinet include the appointment of Dalpatis of Village Defense Dal to the post of Panchayat Secretary . The Cabinet Secretary said that by relaxing the Jharkhand Panchayat Secretary Rules, 2014, the proposal to appoint the Dalpatis of the Village Defense Dal to the post of Panchayat Secretary was approved in the meeting of the Council of Ministers. Along with this, the extension of service period of assistant policemen was also approved. In special circumstances, the total contractual service period was earlier 5 years, now it will be 6 years.
8 hydro power projects will be operated in PPP mode
The cabinet approved the operation of 8 hydroelectric projects in the state by JEREDA on PPP mode. These hydroelectric projects are as follows:
Chandil Small Hydro Electric Project, Seraikela-Kharsawan, Total Capacity: 8 MW

List of incurable diseases increased from 4 to 17
Under the Chief Minister Critical Illness Treatment Scheme, the amount of medical aid grant at the departmental level has been increased from Rs 5 lakh to Rs 10 lakh for the treatment of affected persons. Along with this, other incurable diseases will also be added to the already reported incurable diseases. Earlier only four diseases (all types of cancer, kidney transplant, severe liver, acid attack) used to get government help. Now government help will be available in 17 diseases (thalassemia, brain hemorrhage, bone marrow transplant, plastic surgery in post trauma deformity, retinal detachment, cochlear implant etc.).
Teachers, non-teaching workers will be posted in 5 degree colleges of Palamu
In the cabinet meeting held today, approval was given for creation of posts of principal, assistant professor and non-teaching staff in five degree colleges established in Nilambar-Pitamber University located in Palamu district and faculties in colleges. 145 posts will be created for 18 faculties in 5 colleges (Degree College Vishrampur, Degree College Chhatarpur, Degree College Hussainabad, Degree College Bhavnathpur and Degree College Panki). There will be 11 non-academic posts. This will increase the burden of Rs 10 crore 96 lakh on the revenue.
Children from other districts will be able to study in model schools
Now children from other blocks and districts will also be able to get admission in 89 model schools of the state. The cabinet secretary said that earlier seats in these schools used to remain vacant. Therefore, children from neighboring blocks and nearby districts will also get admission on the basis of recommendation. Nomination will be done through the school management committee and the committee constituted at the district level. Let us inform that in the year 2021, 2,717 applications were received for a total of 3,560 seats in these schools. The admission of 1,485 students was done on the basis of recommendation.
Other cabinet decisions
The old pension scheme will be restored. In the meeting held on 15.7.2022, the decision of old pension scheme for state employees was taken. For this SOP will be prepared. It will be deemed to be applicable from 1.09.22022.
Latehar to Herhanj via Nawada road (Rs 79,49,91,400 was sanctioned for the widening and strengthening work of 28.7 kms in Latehar district.
In the state of Jharkhand, under the National Food Security Act 2013, fortified rice will be distributed in all 24 districts under the public distribution system.
The service of fixed wing chartered aircraft for one month for the out-of-state official travel of state VIPs, VVIPs has been approved on the basis of nomination for one month. 2 crore 6 lakh 50 thousand rupees will be spent. For one month from 31st August 2022.
