High-Level Meeting on Drafted in Jharkhand: Hemant Soren's government is working on a plan to provide employment to farmers and laborers. On Friday, a high-level meeting was held at the Jharkhand Secretariat under the chairmanship of Hemant Soren. In this, the Chief Minister assessed the drought situation and gave necessary instructions to the officials. The Chief Minister took detailed information from the officials about the rainfall in all the districts and blocks and the situation of sowing of other crops including paddy.

The Chief Minister of Jharkhand asked the officials to prepare a detailed plan at the earliest to provide relief to the farmers, livestock farmers and laborers from drought. The Chief Minister said that the government is taking all necessary steps to deal with the drought situation. He said that all the departments concerned should prepare an action plan to deal with the drought.

Chief Minister Hemant Soren clearly said that all the concerned departments should prepare a detailed action plan to deal with the drought. Make sure to give benefits to the farmers and laborers by planning in other areas including agriculture, animal husbandry, irrigation, rural development, MNREGA and drinking water.

start soil related works

In view of the drought situation, the Chief Minister has given instructions to the officials to start the raw work related to the soil. He asked to start construction of unpaved roads, construction of ponds and dobhas, construction of bunds in the fields, etc. in rural areas, so that farmers and laborers can be given relief by connecting them.

Officers should visit Santhal, Palamu division and get information about the ground reality

In the high level meeting, Hemant Soren told the officials that due to less rainfall in many areas of Santal and Palamu division, there has been a situation of water crisis for agriculture work as well as drinking water and livestock. In such a situation, senior officers should visit these areas and get information about the ground reality there and prepare a report to deal with it and give it to the government, so that effective steps can be taken as soon as possible.

Emphasis on employment generation and stopping migration

The Chief Minister said that special attention needs to be paid to ensure that there is no migration of farmers and laborers from the state due to drought. He said that how we can connect farmers, laborers and other affected people with employment, what can be the system of giving them wages, what other options can be adopted to deal with drought and which schemes related to this can be implemented. It can be done, prepare a full report of it. The Chief Minister also asked the officials to take full information about the preparations being made by the drought-affected states to deal with the drought.

Such is the drought situation in Jharkhand

The Chief Minister was told by the officials that according to the rainfall situation in the state till August 15, 131 blocks are in a state of moderate and 112 blocks in severe drought condition. At the same time, so far only 37.19 percent of the crops have been sown in the entire state. In this, 30 percent of paddy has been planted, 63.81 percent of maize, 44.95 percent of pulses, 40.67 percent of oilseeds and 28.87 percent of coarse cereals.
