Zimbabwe may have lost the three-match ODI series 2–1 on the tour of Australia, but in the last ODI, Zimbabwe defeated Australia badly.

Zimbabwe registered a historic win over Australia in the third and final ODI at Townsville on Saturday. After calling Australia to bat, Zimbabwe's bowlers bowled out Australia for 141 for the first time in ODIs. After this Zimbabwe won the match brilliantly by scoring 142 runs in 39 overs. Zimbabwe can qualify for the World Cup

The win boosted Zimbabwe's chances of climbing the ladder of the ODI Super League. This means that Zimbabwe can qualify for the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 to be held in India next year. After winning the match, the players of Zimbabwe team celebrated in a moving bus. Its video has been shared by Zimbabwe Cricket on its official Twitter handle.

Sikandar Raza took 5 wickets

In the video, Zimbabwe players, including star batsman Sikandar Raza, can be seen singing and dancing inside the team bus. After deciding to bowl after the toss, Ryan Burle (five for 10) of the visiting team played a key role in bowling out the hosts for 141 runs. The leg-spinner made the best performance of his career by taking five wickets for 10 runs.

Australia won ODI series

Australia had earlier won the series by winning both the ODI matches. In the third ODI, Zimbabwe won the toss and decided to field first. Zimbabwe had taken three wickets within the first 10 overs, so that Australia could not recover till the end. In reply, Zimbabwe chased down the target with 66 balls to spare. For him, captain Regis Chakabwa scored the highest 37 runs while Tadivanashe Marumani contributed 35 runs.

Zimbabwe won for the first time in Australia

This win is Zimbabwe's first win against Australia on their own soil. Josh Hazlewood took three wickets for Australia. Australia's innings could have been reduced very cheaply but opener David Warner kept one end and scored 94 runs in 96 balls. Apart from him, only Glenn Maxwell (19) reached double digits.
