Sidhu Musewala murder: Sixth shooter Deepak Mundi and Lawrence Bishnoi gang member arrested

The Punjab Police on Saturday said it has arrested the sixth and last shooter allegedly involved in the murder of singer Sidhu Musewala. Earlier, Delhi Police had arrested the first three shooters. At the same time, two others were killed in the encounter by the Punjab Police. Simultaneously, Punjab Police on Saturday said that a member of Lawrence Bishnoi gang has been arrested and 11 pistols have been recovered from him. Bishnoi had admitted three months ago that he had hatched a conspiracy to kill Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala.

Deepak Mundi was throwing dust in the eyes of the police

Gaurav Yadav, Director General (DGP) of Punjab Police said that Deepak alias Mundi was till now throwing dust in the eyes of the police. Deepak along with two of his associates were caught in a joint operation with central agencies from the West Bengal-Nepal border. Singer Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu, popularly known as Sidhu Musewala, was shot dead on May 29 in Mansa district of Punjab. Police had identified six shooters who were involved in the murder of the singer. Of these, Priyavrata Fauji, Kashish and Ankit Sersa were arrested by the Special Cell of Delhi Police, while Manpreet Singh and Jagroop Singh Roopa were killed in an encounter by the Punjab Police.

Lawrence Bishnoi gang member arrested from Mohali

At the same time, Punjab Police said on Saturday that a member of Lawrence Bishnoi gang has been arrested and 11 pistols have been recovered from him. Bishnoi had admitted three months ago that he had hatched a conspiracy to kill Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala and was preparing for it since August last year.

Manpreet Singh is a resident of Ludhiana

Mohali Senior Superintendent of Police Viveksheel Soni told that Manpreet Singh, a member of Bishnoi's gang, was arrested from Kharar here. The SSP said that Manpreet (25) is a resident of Ludhiana and has two criminal cases (one in Kharar and the other in Ludhiana) pending against him. Police said a nine-mm Glock pistol, ten 0.32 pistols, three live cartridges and a luxury car were recovered from him, police said. Police said that Manpreet was provided with weapons by a person named Ashwini Kumar, a resident of Pehwa in Haryana. Kumar has already been arrested.
