Gaya airport director Bangjit Saha said that after October 20, Myanmar Airways aircraft will fly from Gaya to Yangon four days a week.

Keeping in view the tourist season of Bodh Gaya, international flights will be started at Gaya airport after October 20. In view of the increasing number of international flights reaching Bodh Gaya carrying Buddhist pilgrims, the airport management has also started preparations.

Gaya airport director Bangjit Saha said that after October 20, Myanmar Airways aircraft will fly from Gaya to Yangon four days a week. He told that at present no schedule of any kind has been received for the flights coming from Thailand. But from October, the movement of passenger planes will also start from Bangkok and Hanoi Airport in Vietnam.

Director Bangjit Saha said that in view of the tourist season of Bodh Gaya, special arrangements are being made at the airport in view of the commencement of the movement of international flights. It is noteworthy that at present, air service is available from Gaya to Delhi and Gaya Kolkata. Due to the Pitru Paksha fair organized in Gaya every day full load passengers are reaching Gaya in planes.

After the Pitrupaksha, Buddhist devotees from South Asia will also reach Bodh Gaya for the organization of ceremonial ceremony of Buddhist monks in Bodh Gaya and various pujas. Due to this, there will be no shortage of passengers for international flights as well as domestic planes. The movement of international passenger planes from Gaya airport is closed since March 2020 due to the Korana epidemic. In between, Buddhist travelers have been reaching here by chartered flights.
