Ranchi: Chief Minister Hemant Soren will release Jharkhand's new sports policy on Tuesday. In the Jharkhand Sports Policy-2022, provision has been made to prepare sports and players to participate in national and international level by giving better training. The policy will pave the way for the talented sportspersons of the state to reach national and international level in selected sports disciplines. Identifying talent and training them will work towards making them champions.
An environment will be created for sports and physical activities for citizens of all ages from Panchayat to State level. Provision has been made in the policy to promote indigenous and traditional sports, promote sports tourism and provide equal opportunities to sports persons with disabilities.
Create a digital database:
According to the policy, high quality sports grounds will be developed in every block of the state. Day-boarding, Sports Kislay Center, Residential Sports Development Center and Eklavya Sports Academy will be improved in a planned manner for the players of the state. The country's first sports digital database will be prepared for all the players of the state. Apart from this, provision has also been made for rural sports centre, sports academy, sports science, sports talent search, sports infrastructure development, coach development, physical fitness program, sports branding and transparency.
Financial assistance and job provision:
A plan has been made to work at Panchayat, Block, District and State level to identify talented sportspersons. Provision has been made to give benefits of scholarship, insurance and pension scheme to former players. Along with this, provision has also been made for giving reservation to sportspersons in jobs and educational institutions and for direct recruitment in the second, third and fourth grades of the state level. The honor amount has been fixed for the players and coaches. Provision has also been made in the policy to establish a sports university in the state.
Jharkhand Premier League for Football, Hockey
In the new sports policy, arrangements have been made for the best PHE, PT teacher and grassroot level coach. The rules have also been laid down for the creation of state talent pool for PT teachers and grassroot level trainers, to attract related PPPs and sponsors of sports activities and communication skills.
Organizing Jharkhand Premier League for sports like football, hockey, village level sports, promotion of traditional sports, legislation has been made on the lines of National Sports Development Code of India for doping free sports. It has also been said in the policy to create a State Sports Development Fund to prepare a road map in football, archery and athletics.
