Central Vista: Owaisi appeals to PM Modi, new building of Parliament House should be named after Babasaheb Ambedkar

AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi said that we appeal to the central government to name the new building of Parliament House after Babasaheb Ambedkar.

Central Vista Project: All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi said in Hyderabad on Tuesday that the new Parliament should be named after Babasaheb Ambedkar. The Telangana Legislature today unanimously passed a resolution urging the Center to name the new Parliament building after Dr. BR Ambedkar, the architect of the Indian Constitution.

Parliament runs on constitution, so name should be changed

AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi said that we appeal to the central government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi to name the new building of Parliament House after Babasaheb Ambedkar. Asaduddin Owaisi said that Parliament runs on the Constitution, so that building should be named after Babasaheb Ambedkar. The MP from Hyderabad said that we appeal to the Telangana government to name the new assembly building being built in Telangana as well, after Babasaheb Ambedkar.


Motion introduced in Telangana Legislature

It is noteworthy that both the houses of the Telangana Legislature moved a resolution by the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) government, urging the Center to name the new Parliament building after Babasaheb Ambedkar, the architect of the Indian Constitution. Industries, Information Technology, Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister KT Rama Rao introduced the motion in the House. AIMIM and Congress party fully supported the proposal. At the same time, BJP MLAs were not present in the house. Speaker P. Srinivas Reddy unanimously announced to pass the resolution by voice vote.
