Forensic investigation of mobiles of all the three accused arrested in Chandigarh University MMS video leak case is going on.

A big disclosure has come to light in the Chandigarh University objectionable video case. It is being told that the arrested accused boy was blackmailing the accused girl. All the three arrested accused in the MMS video case were presented on Monday in a court in Kharar, Mohali, where the court sent all the accused on 7-day remand. However, the police had sought 10-day remand from the court.

Three-member SIT constituted to investigate Chandigarh University case

The Punjab Police has constituted a three-member Special Investigation Team (SIT), all of which are women, to probe allegations that a girl student of Chandigarh University made objectionable videos of several girl students in the toilet. Police said that the SIT has been formed under the supervision of senior Indian Police Service officer Gurpreet Kaur Dev.

Punjab Police said, the person involved in the case will not be spared

Punjab Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav said that the team will investigate the matter thoroughly and no one involved will be spared. He said, the investigation is going on at full speed.

Students demonstrated massively regarding MMS case

Protests took place on the university campus in Punjab's Mohali on Saturday night over this issue. Some students also claimed that the videos recorded by the student have also been leaked. He also accused the warden of misbehaving. However, the university authorities have dismissed these allegations as false and baseless. After assurances of a fair and transparent investigation, the students called off their protest around 1.30 pm on Sunday night.

Police claim arrested student only sent her video to her boyfriend

Police also said that it appears that the student who made the video shared only a video of herself with her 23-year-old boyfriend and no objectionable video of any other student was found. It said the student concerned was arrested shortly after, while her alleged lover was nabbed from Himachal Pradesh on Sunday. Another 31-year-old man was also nabbed from the hill state on Sunday evening, police said.

University holiday till September 24

After the video controversy, the university declared a holiday till September 24. After which many students were seen returning to their homes. Some parents also took their children back from the campus.

Two wardens also suspended for negligence

The university has also suspended two wardens for negligence. University sources said that a joint committee consisting of students and senior officials has been formed to resolve some issues like hostel timings. The move comes after students demanded more privacy in the toilet area and relaxation in hostel timings.
