Pankaj Mishra has acquired assets worth Rs 42 crore with the help of money laundering.

The case of illegal mining in Sahibganj is worth more than 1000 crores. So far, assets worth Rs 42 crore have been traced by Pankaj Mishra through money laundering. Being the MLA's representative of the CM, he enjoyed political clout in the area and controlled activities related to illegal mining. ED has mentioned these facts.

Chargesheet filed against three:

According to the ED, for the investigation of the case related to illegal mining, apart from the FIR registered in the Barharwa police station, some FIRs registered in connection with illegal mining were taken for investigation. In the first phase of the investigation of the case, a charge sheet was filed against three people (Pankaj Mishra, Bacchu Yadav, Prem Prakash) in the court of special judge of PMLA in this case of illegal mining.

The court has issued summons by taking cognizance against the accused in this case. All the three accused are currently in jail. The ED had arrested Pankaj Mishra on July 19, Bacchu on four and Prem Prakash on August 25.

Raids on 47 locations:

Raids were conducted at 47 locations across the country including Jharkhand. During this Rs 5.34 crore in cash was seized. Rs 13.32 crore deposited in bank accounts was seized. During the investigation in Sahibganj, a cargo steamer, five stone crushers and trucks laden with stone chips were seized. During the raid, two AK-47 rifles were seized from Prem Prakash. It needs to be studied.
