Jammu and Kashmir: Second bus blast in Udhampur within eight hours, fear of terrorist conspiracy

A mysterious explosion took place in another bus in Udhampur within eight hours. According to news agency ANI, there is no news of any casualty in the bomb blast late on Wednesday. 

Earlier yesterday, a powerful explosion took place in a bus parked at a petrol pump near the military post in Udhampur. Two buses were damaged by the blast, while two people were injured.

Prima facie it is being considered as a terrorist conspiracy. Army, CRPF and police have cordoned off the area and started investigation. Police sources said that six buses, including a mini bus, were parked at the Baigra petrol pump in TCP Domel area on the old highway in Udhampur.

As usual, the bus (JK14D-6857) of Basantgarh route was parked at 6 pm and at 10.30 pm there was a loud explosion in this bus. A portion of the bus and the mini bus (JK14G-5147) parked nearby also got shattered.

Bus conductor Sunil Singh and mini bus conductor Vijay Kumar were injured, who were rushed to the hospital. The blast was so strong that tremors were felt even in buildings in the surrounding residential areas. Senior officers of police, army and CRPF reached the spot and investigated.

There is also an army post just in front of the petrol pump. Intelligence agencies and police are not ruling out the angle of terror attack. However, the reason for the blast is not yet clear. At the same time, a few hours before this, a woman was caught with four kg of IED in Poonch district, adjacent to the Line of Control (LoC).

The accused woman Olive Akhtar and a person named Mohammad Riaz have been taken into custody for interrogation. The Home Minister has a rally on October 4 in Rajori district, adjoining Poonch. In this regard, the security personnel in both the districts have been kept on high alert.

It is being told that on the intelligence input of SOG, the woman was caught with the bag from Parade Park located in the heart of Poonch Nagar. Where the IED came from and where it was being taken, is being questioned. A big conspiracy is believed to be behind the capture of powerful explosives before the visit of the Home Minister.

Bus conductor Sunil Singh, who was injured in the blast, has shrapnel on his back. Sunil told that two pieces from the bus of Kathua route were kept on the roof of the bus of Basantgarh route. He himself covered the goods with tarpaulin and went to sleep in the bus. Shortly after that there was a loud explosion.  

Terrorist conspiracies intensify again in Rajori-Poonch

Rajori and Poonch districts, which were quiet for a long time due to the elimination of terrorism, have again come under the grip of terrorist activities in the Jammu division. After the ceasefire agreement in February 2021, the shelling stopped but the over ground network has become very active.

In recent months, there have been blasts, ambush terror attacks and several encounters in Rajori and Poonch districts. Many cases related to drugs and counterfeit currency rackets have also been caught from the areas adjoining the LoC.

This is the reason that there have been many visits to Rajori and Poonch by the Chief of Army Staff and Northern Command. With the increasing activities in Rajori-Poonch, several meetings have been held to strengthen the security grid.
