National convention of SP is going on at Ramabai rally venue of capital Lucknow. Meanwhile, senior SP leader Professor Ram Gopal Yadav has once again announced the name of Akhilesh Yadav as the party's president. In such a situation, Akhilesh has been elected the national president of SP for the third time.

In fact, in the national convention of the party, Akhilesh Yadav has been elected the party president for the third time in a row, which was already guessed. In fact, after a standoff with the then cabinet minister Shivpal Yadav, on January 1, 2017, the national convention was called for the first time in place of party founder Mulayam Singh Yadav as the national president of the party. After that, he was once again unanimously elected the President of the party in the national convention held in Agra in October 2017.

In October 2017 itself, by changing the constitution of the party, the tenure of the President was increased from three years to five years. The post of national president of SP, formed in October 1992, has been occupied by the Yadav family till now. Before Akhilesh, Mulayam Singh Yadav was the president of the party. This third national convention of SP has also been done keeping in mind the elections of 2024.

In view of the vigorous preparations of the BJP in every election of the state, the challenges before Akhilesh will be more than before. The challenge before him is to perform better in the upcoming November-December possible municipal elections and then in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. In such a situation, the party leadership will have to re-energize the organization by taking lessons from the past mistakes and infuse new energy in it.
