In view of the fight against Naxalism, 400 personnel will be recruited with the intention to strengthen the Bastaria Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force.

Bastariya Battalion: The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has taken another step to fight against Naxalism. Under this, soldiers will be recruited to strengthen the Bastariya battalion. In this episode, the recruitment drive has started to select 400 candidates in CRPF. The Bastaria Battalion is a special unit specializing in jungle warfare tactics. For which the youth of 3 districts of South Chhattisgarh, Bijapur, Dantewada and Sukma will be recruited.

The campaign got an overwhelming response from the local youth

According to the report of news agency ANI, the aim of the ten-day campaign, held from October 10 to 20, is to select 400 candidates for the post of constable for general duty in the Bastaria battalion of CRPF. Earlier, CRPF had taken up the recruitment of local people having knowledge of language, culture, topography and demography in 2016-17 to strengthen intelligence collection and operations. According to CRPF officials, the campaign received an overwhelming response from the local youth, who are participating in large numbers with a strong will to serve the nation.

Step taken after 4 months

The report quoted a senior CRPF official as saying that this enthusiasm of the youth is a result of the step taken by the Ministry of Home Affairs to ease the eligibility criteria for the local youth of Bijapur, Dantewada and Sukma, so that they can join the CRPF. May be It is said that this step has been taken almost 4 months after the Center relaxed the educational norms for the tribals of Chhattisgarh to join the CRPF.
