Team India will not tour Pakistan for Asia Cup 2023, BCCI secretary Jay Shah bluntly

BCCI secretary Jay Shah has clarified that India will not tour Pakistan for the Asia Cup 2023.
SponsoredAsian Cricket Council chief Jay Shah said on the sidelines of the 91st BCCI Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Mumbai on Tuesday that the Indian cricket team will not travel to Pakistan for the Asia Cup in 2023. The hosting of Asia Cup 2023 was handed over to Pakistan. Sources had earlier said that the BCCI is ready to send Team India to participate in the tournament. Shah, who is also the BCCI secretary, said that the 2023 Asia Cup can be played at a neutral venue and not Pakistan.
India-Pakistan do not play bilateral series
India last toured Pakistan in 2005-06 for a bilateral series under the leadership of Rahul Dravid. India and Pakistan have not played a bilateral cricket series since 2012-13. At that time Pakistan toured India for three T20Is and as many ODIs. Since then, the two now face each other only in major tournaments of the Asia Cup or ICC.
Stadiums are filled in Indo-Pak match
The match between India and Pakistan is always exciting. Stadiums are full. On October 23, the tickets for the T20 World Cup 2022 for both the teams were sold out within hours of its release. Last year the Asia Cup was to be held in Sri Lanka. But when Sri Lanka expressed its inability to host, it was handed over to the UAE. Similarly, it may be possible that in 2023 also the Asia Cup can be organized elsewhere instead of Pakistan.

It is expected that the first edition of the Women's IPL will be held in March 2023.
