Assam CM Himanta Sharma wrote a letter to Mamta Banerjee in the case of student's death in IIT Kharagpur

The case of student's death in IIT Kharagpur is getting heated. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sharma has written a letter in the matter. In a letter to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, she has requested her to intervene in the matter for a detailed investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of Faizan Ahmed, an Assam student at IIT Kharagpur.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has said that there is a wave of mourning in Assam due to the untimely death of Ahmed. Ahmed, a resident of Tinsukia district of the state, was a third year mechanical engineering student at IIT whose body was found in the hostel room on October 14. The parents of Faizan Ahmed, an Assam student at IIT Kharagpur, have given a complaint to the Kharagpur Police, requesting the Superintendent of Police, West Midnapore, the station in-charge of Kharagpur city for a detailed investigation into the matter.

Let us tell you that a few days old body of a third year student of IIT Kharagpur was found from his room in the hostel on 14 October. Regarding the matter, an official of the prestigious educational institution had told that the body has been recovered after breaking the door of the hostel room. This is the second incident of death of an IIT student in the last one week. The body of a 20-year-old fifth year BTech student at IIT Guwahati was found hanging in his room on October 10.

IIT Kharagpur registrar Tamalnath said that the door of his room in the hostel was forcibly opened after Fainaz Ahmed could not be contacted for hours, where his body was found. Another IIT Kharagpur official said that no molestation is suspected so far and the administration is probing the circumstances related to the death of the 23-year-old student. Friends of Fainaz told that the third year mechanical engineering student was last seen on 13 October.
