Retired IG dies due to fire in house, son and wife serious, family lived in Indiranagar, Lucknow

Inspector (SHO) in-charge of Ghazipur police station area of ​​Lucknow Police Commissionerate Manoj Kumar Mishra said that a fire broke out in the house of former IG DC Pandey (70) located in Indira Nagar last night. His family got stuck on his first floor. The police immediately reached the spot after being informed by the neighbors and they and the firefighters brought out Pandey, his wife Aruna Pandey and son Shashank after dousing the fire. Everyone's condition had worsened as smoke filled the house.

Mishra said that all three were taken to Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, where doctors declared DC Pandey brought dead. He told that the treatment of his wife and son is going on and necessary legal process is being completed. Mishra told that Pandey had retired about 10 years ago. Police sources said that a fire broke out at Pandey's residence around 11 pm on Saturday night and the entire family was trapped on his first floor. He told that Pandey himself first tried to extinguish the fire, but without success, he raised an alarm. When the police reached there, they found all the family members unconscious. Sources said that DC Pandey's wife and son are said to be out of danger.
