At the same time, since the opening of the portal of West Bengal Board of Primary Education (WBBPE) on October 14, more than one lakh applications have been received for Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) in 11 days. Applications will be submitted by November 3. The board is expected to get more applications for the third tet. Keep in mind that this will be the first Tet after the year 2014 and 2017.

In the context of recent recruitment scams through State SSC (School Service Commission), it will be a big challenge to get TET for primary board with the state government. It is to be known that the last advertisement for the recruitment of assistant teachers in primary schools (classes one to four) was released in the year 2017. In such a situation, after about five years, Tet is going to be held on December 11. A board official is expected to receive around two lakh applications by November 3. Along with this, preparations are also being made for the examination to be conducted in a peaceful manner.

The recent notice mentions that the Board of Elementary Education wants to introduce a biometric authentication system to strengthen the examination process. A government official said the new systems would be implemented. Special arrangements are being made to keep the exam error free. The new system will be user-friendly as it happens in various competitive examinations across the country. Biometric authentication system will be applicable for physical verification at the examination center. Installation of CCTV cameras in the examination center is also being considered.
