However, this time eight-time MLA and Speaker of the Assembly Satish Mahana has canceled the membership of ten-time MLA former cabinet minister Muhammad Azam Khan after the court's decision in the case of hate speech. Let us inform that continuous cases were registered against SP leader Azam Khan in Rampur. After this he was arrested. He got bail from the Supreme Court on 20 May after 27 months. After which he was released.

It is noteworthy that on Thursday, Rampur MP MLA Court had imposed three years' imprisonment and a monetary fine of 25 thousand to senior Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan. This hate speech was given by Azam Khan in a village of Milak tehsil of Rampur during the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. In the case of the same speech, the membership was canceled. After the approval of the Speaker, the principal secretary has written a letter to cancel the assembly membership of former cabinet minister Muhammad Azam, but has also written it wrong in a hurry. Azam Khan is an MLA from 37 city assembly. But, on the letter issued by the Principal Secretary, it has been written that Muhammad Azam Khan has been elected as a member of the State Legislative Assembly from 38 Milak Assembly Constituency. Even this could get stuck. His membership has been canceled with effect from 27 October.
A look at Azam Khan's political journey
Azam Khan started student politics in 1976 from Aligarh Muslim University. After this, in 1980, the first assembly election was won by Janata Party Secular. In 1985 on Lok Dal ticket, in 1989 on Janata Dal ticket, in 1991 on Janata Party ticket, he reached the assembly after winning elections. In 1992, he joined the SP. He is a founding member of SP. Mulayam Singh Yadav had made the national general secretary at the time of party formation. In 1993, he won the elections on SP ticket. But, Afroz Khan defeated him in the 1996 assembly elections. Due to which SP sent Rajya Sabha. During this time he became recognized as a Muslim leader. Became MLA again in 2002 and won in 2007 as well. Along with becoming an MLA in 2012, he became a cabinet minister in the SP's UP government. Won again in 2017 election. But, in 2019, after electing an MP, he went to Delhi. Since then, he was sent to jail after the cases.
