Kantara becomes highest grossing regional film

Kantara has become a big hit in the local Kannada market. Its collection in Karnataka is Rs 143 crore. Its collection in Hindi is more than Rs 32 crore and more business is expected in the weekend. In its Hindi collection, it has surpassed Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan I, R Madhavan's Rocketry: The Nambi Effect and Rakshit Shetty's 777 Charlie. Kantara is competing hard with the Hindi version of Kartikeya 2 and has emerged as the second highest-grossing regional film after Yash starrer KGF: Chapter 2.

The film will not release on OTT on November 4

The massive success of the film at the ticket window sparked a discussion on social media about the release of the film on the OTT platform. It was also rumored on various social media platforms that the period action thriller 'Kantara' will release on OTT on November 4. But recently the makers denied these rumors outright. The producer of the film, Karthik Gowda, tweeted through his official Twitter handle that the film is not releasing on OTT anytime soon. "Wrong news! We'll let you know when it's coming out but definitely not on November 4th," he said.
