ICC T20 Ranking: Suryakumar Yadav becomes world's No. 1 batsman, leaves Pakistan's Mohammad Rizwan behind

India's star player Suryakumar Yadav has become the world's number 1 batsman in T20 international cricket. In the latest ranking of batsmen in the list released by the ICC, Suryakumar has topped the shortest format of world cricket with 863 points. Earlier, Pakistan's opener Mohammad Rizwan (842 points) was number one from September 4 this year, leaving Yadav behind and has played his sting in the world.

Suryakumar Yadav performed brilliantly in the T20 World Cup, 51 off 25 balls against the Netherlands, then 60 off 40 balls against South Africa without coming under pressure when India were five for 49 in Perth. Runs and a strike rate of 187.50 against Bangladesh today, his innings of 30 runs in 16 balls proved to be helpful in getting him the number one crown.

Suryakumar is the 23rd batsman in the world and the second batsman from India to reach this position in T20. Prior to this, only Virat Kohli has been number one in the ICC T20 rankings from India. Kohli remained at the top of the rankings for 1013 days between 2014 and 2017 with 897 points.

Suryakumar has played 38 T20 Internationals so far in which he has scored a total of 1209 runs with 1 century and 11 half-centuries. In the year 2022, a total of 27 T20 matches have been played in which 965 runs have been scored. Talking about one-day international matches, he has scored 640 runs in 13 matches, which includes two half-centuries.
