Google has decided to stop the 'Play Billing' system for the purchase of digital goods and services in India.

Google Pause Play Billing: Google has decided to stop the 'Play Billing' system for the purchase of digital goods and services in India. This step has been taken in view of the recent decisions of the Competition Commission of India (CCI). The company also said that it is considering all legal options.

CCI last month imposed a fine of Rs 936.44 crore on Google in relation to its Play Store policies. The regulator had also directed the company to stop unfair business practices as well as resolve anti-competitive issues within a stipulated time frame.

Google said, "Following the recent decision of CCI, we are suspending Google Play's billing system for transactions of purchase of digital goods and services by users in India." The company, however, said it was reviewing its legal options and would continue to invest in Android and Play.
