The Election Commission may announce the Gujarat Assembly elections today.

Gujarat assembly elections will be announced today. The Election Commission will hold a press conference today at 12 noon. In this conference, the dates of Gujarat elections will be given. According to reports, the elections in Gujarat can be held in two phases. Voting can be done in the first week of December.

When was the last election held? 

Last time elections were held in Gujarat in two phases. The election dates were announced on 25 October 2017. The notification was issued on November 14 for the first phase and on November 20 for the second phase. The results for the first phase of elections were declared on 9 December 2017 and the second phase on 14 December. Voting was held in 89 seats in the first phase and 93 in the second phase. 

The contest may be triangular, for the  last 24 years, only the Bharatiya Janata Party has been in power in Gujarat, but this time the equations will be seen changing. This is because after winning Delhi and Punjab, the Aam Aadmi Party has put full force in Gujarat as well. In such a situation, the competition can be triangular.
