BTP founder Vasava informed the media in this regard. He said that BTP and JD(U) are old friends and hence we have decided to forge a pre-poll alliance.

All the parties have intensified campaigning for the Gujarat elections. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will also be seen campaigning in Gujarat, where the BJP has been winning continuously for the last 27 years. The Indian Tribal Party (BTP) led by Chhotu Vasava has given information in this regard. The BTP on Monday announced a pre-poll alliance with "old friend" Janata Dal (United) for next month's Gujarat Assembly elections.

Leader of Bharatiya Tribal Party (BTP) Chhotu Vasava said that Bihar Chief Minister and JD(U) leader Nitish Kumar will campaign in Gujarat. Let us discuss here that the voting for the 182-member Gujarat assembly is to be held on December 1 and 5. However, it is not yet revealed how many seats the JD(U) will contest in the election.

Target to uproot BJP

BTP founder Vasava informed the media in this regard. He said that BTP and JD(U) are old friends and hence we have decided to forge a pre-poll alliance. Our party will help them and they will help us. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will reach Gujarat for election campaign and will seek votes from the public. He further said that our aim is to uproot the present (BJP) regime from Gujarat.

Broken alliance with 'you'

Let us discuss here that BTP has announced the first list of candidates for 12 assembly constituencies in the past. This list includes nine seats reserved for Scheduled Tribes (ST). In the month of September, the BTP broke its four-month-old pre-poll alliance with Arvind Kejriwal's Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). It was alleged on behalf of the BTP that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has sent Arvind Kejriwal to defeat the BTP.

BTP when with whom

If we look at the current assembly, BTP has two MLAs. While Chhotu Vasava represents Jhagadia seat in Bharuch, his son and BTP national president Mahesh Vasava is an MLA from Dediapadain in Narmada district. If you remember, a veteran tribal leader, Chhotu Vasava was with the JD(U) from 1990 to 2017. He left the party after Nitish Kumar forged an alliance with the BJP and formed the BTP before the 2017 assembly elections. He had earlier forged an electoral alliance with the Asaduddin Owaisi-led AIMIM ahead of the Gujarat Panchayat elections in 2020 and with the AAP this year. However, Vasava broke ties with the AAP and claimed that Kejriwal was working at the behest of the BJP.
