Kannada film industry veteran actor Lohitashva has passed away.

Veteran Kannada actor Lohitashva passed away at a private hospital in Bangalore after a prolonged illness. He was 80 years old. He breathed his last at around 2.40 pm in the afternoon. His son and actor Yash Lohitashwa told that recently he had suffered a heart attack and also had brain-related ailments. Although there was some improvement in his health later, but later it started deteriorating again.

Talking to media persons Yash Lohitashwa said that the body of the actor will be kept for last rites till Wednesday morning at his residence Kumaraswamy Layout in Bangalore for the sake of his fans, friends and others. Thereafter, the last rites of Lohitashva would be performed at his ancestral residence Thondagere in Tumakuru district.

Let us inform that Lohiteshwar was an actor as well as a playwright and retired English professor. His famous movies are 'AK 47', 'Dada', 'Deva', 'Ni Bareda Kadambari', 'Sangliana' etc. Talking about TV serials, she has also worked in 'Antim Raja', 'Grihabhanga', 'Malgudi Days', 'Natyrani Shantala' etc. 

Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has also paid tribute by tweeting on the death of Lohiteshwar. He wrote, 'He has a special place in the hearts of fans for his voice and excellent acting. I pray for his soul to rest in peace and pray to God to give strength to his family to bear this loss.
