The state cabinet meeting was held in Patna on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Nitish Kumar. A total of 12 agendas were stamped in this. In the meeting, Nitish Kumar has increased the dearness allowance while giving gifts to the employees of the state government. Due to the increase of 15 percent in the salary of the employees, now according to the fifth pay scale, the employees and pensioners of the state government will get 396 percent allowance instead of 381 percent. Along with this, a decision was also taken in the meeting to bring about restoration in many departments.

Dearness allowance increased by 15 percent 

According to the new decision of the cabinet, this increased allowance will be implemented with effect from July 1, 2022, for state government employees, pensioners, family pensioners, who are now receiving salary pension. Like the fifth central pay scale, the state government employees and pensioners receiving salary and pension under the sixth central pay scale will also get 212% dearness allowance instead of 203% with effect from July 1, 2022. The increased salary allowance has been approved by the Nitish cabinet today.


Rs 25 crore approved for prohibition 

Along with this, the cabinet has approved the appointment of 104 posts for the headquarter of Patna in the Mines and Geology Department. Apart from this, 50 new posts will also be created in engineering and polytechnic colleges. Apart from this, the state government has released an advance of 25 crores from the Bihar State Contingency Fund for the Central Prohibition Products and Registration Department. Which will be spent for the prohibition campaign.

Extended period of caste-based census 

The most important decision in the Nitish cabinet meeting has been taken regarding the period of caste-based census. The government has extended the deadline for the caste census. Earlier the caste census was to be completed by next year i.e. February 2023, but now it has been extended by 2 months. Nitish government will now conduct caste census by May 2023.
