The e-toilets built at a cost of crores of rupees in Agra have become completely waste. In such a situation, the Municipal Corporation has issued a legal notice to the company making e-toilet and has banned its payment. Along with this, the company has also been blacklisted. The company will no longer be able to participate in the work of any municipal corporation in the country.
Under the Smart City Project of the Municipal Corporation, a tender was floated for the construction of e-toilets at 8 major places in the district. This tender was received by Smart Tech Company. The company made the first e-toilet in Agra in April 2019. After this, the company completed the construction of toilets at other 7 places as well. About 3 crore 42 lakh rupees were spent in making all these toilets.
Mayor Naveen Jain informed that keeping in view the congested areas by the Municipal Corporation, Jalkal Bhoomi, near Police Chowki behind JP Hotel in Tajganj, on 100 foot road near ADA Park, Trident Hotel Tirahe, near Basai Mandi A toilet was built near the eastern and western gates of the Taj Mahal, near the Amar Hotel. All these toilets were made by Smart Tech Company. It could be used by putting a coin of 5 rupees in these toilets.
The toilets built at major places of the city are completely dilapidated. Most of them do not have water facilities, so many are lying closed. In such a situation, due to the failure of all the toilets made for the convenience of tourists, many tourists and people are facing problems.
When the Municipal Corporation came to know about this matter, it issued a legal notice to the company making e-toilet and blacklisted it. Along with this, the advance payment of the company has also been stopped and instructions have been issued that the company will not be able to participate in the work of any municipal corporation in the country.
