Territorial Army jawan got fake job in army for four months, cheated 16 lakhs, two arrested

SponsoredA case of cheating of Rs 16 lakh in the name of a job in the army has come to light in Meerut district of the state. The accused not only cheated the young man and his brother of money in the name of getting them jobs, but also got them a fake job for four months. Two accused have been arrested, while one of their accomplices is absconding.
Investigation has revealed that Manoj, a resident of Ghaziabad, came in contact with Rahul, a resident of Kankrala of Khatauli police station of Muzaffarnagar. Rahul lives in Krishna Colony of Daurala, Meerut. He is posted in the Territorial Army.
Rahul along with his friend Bittu of Daurala assured Manoj that he would get him a job in the army. An amount of 16 lakhs was fixed for Manoj and his brother to get jobs. After this, Manoj gave ten lakh rupees in cash and deposited the amount of six lakh in Rahul's bank account.
Along with this, Rahul started keeping Manoj with him in the Territorial Army office. Rahul bought Manoj from the market and gave him an army uniform and also provided an ID card. He also kept Manoj as a follower in his office. Manoj started cooking.
As per the plan, Bittu used to talk to Manoj on video call wearing a colonel's uniform. Because of this he did not even have any doubt. Manoj was told that the colonel is still abroad, after returning from there his section will be changed. After that he will not have to work as a follower. Manoj has done the job for four months. A salary of 12 thousand was also deposited in his account every month.
When Manoj did not appear in front of the colonel, Manoj suspected Rahul and informed the police. On Manoj's complaint, the Meerut police contacted the Delhi unit of the army. After this, the Delhi unit of the Army busted the whole matter. The police have arrested both the accused Rahul and Bittu. Also started investigation against both.
SP City Meerut Piyush Singh told that Rahul cheated Rs 16 lakh by pretending to be a soldier in the army. Three people have been found involved in this. Rahul and Bittu have been arrested, while a person named Raja is absconding. Search for him is going on.
At the same time, this whole matter has raised many questions. Some person was working illegally in the office of the Territorial Army in the Cantt area and no one even came to know about him. This is being called a big negligence in the security system.
