Teacher planning: Only so many candidates will pass the eligibility test in the race to fill 98989 posts in 7th phase
According to official sources, there are no candidates who have passed the Teacher Eligibility Test (STET) in eight subjects of the Faculty of Agriculture, Commerce and Arts.
In the proposed seventh phase of teacher planning for 9360 higher secondary schools (classes 11 and 12), it is not possible to meet the shortage of teachers without conducting Teacher Eligibility Test (STET). Actually, the total vacancies in the higher secondary schools of the state are 98989. There will be only 26687 candidates in the race to fill them. These candidates were passed in STET 2019. According to the experts, if the seventh phase teacher planning is brought without conducting STET, then hardly 10,000 appointments will be possible.
Not only candidates pass Teacher Eligibility Test (STET) in eight subjects
According to official sources, there are no candidates who have passed the Teacher Eligibility Test (STET) in eight subjects of the Faculty of Agriculture, Commerce and Arts. At the same time, STET passed candidates are very less in the ratio of vacancies in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in the Faculty of Science. In the seventh phase, vacancies of some subjects of Agriculture and Commerce Faculty are to be removed. Agriculture education is to be done in 36 schools. For this, 76 teachers have to be appointed.
1060 posts are vacant in commerce faculty
The total number of posts created in the Faculty of Commerce in subjects like Business Study, Accountancy and Internship is 1066. Of these, 1060 posts are vacant. It is not possible to fill this post without conducting STET. The High Court has also given orders to conduct STET in commerce. Whereas, there are 3273 vacancies for Physics in the Faculty of Science. The number of STET pass candidates in this subject is only 814. There are only 1104 STET pass candidates against 3127 vacancies in Chemistry and 2098 STET pass candidates against 2897 vacancies in Mathematics.
Language Group wise vacancies
The total number of vacancies are 16911 in language groups like Hindi, Urdu, Sanskrit, Bengali, Maithili, Magahi, Arabic, Persian, Bhojpuri, Pali, Prakrit. While in language subjects, the number of STET pass candidates in English is 2693 and Maithili is 53. There is not a single STET pass candidate in remaining languages. There are a total of 69713 vacancies in Political Science, Sociology, Home Science, Geography, Psychology, History, Economics and Philosophy of Arts stream in higher secondary schools. Similarly, the vacancies of librarian are 7519. There are no STET pass candidates in this. Computer Science is the only subject which has 1601 vacancies. While the number of STET pass is many times more than this 17034. Presently there is pressure on the government to declare the seventh phase. The matter now rests on getting STET done.
