Security forces on Tuesday killed 10 suspected terrorists during an encounter in Pakistan's restive Balochistan province. The media wing of the army has given this information by issuing a statement. According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the terrorists were killed in an operation launched by security forces to clear a terrorist hideout based on intelligence inputs in Hoshab area of Balochistan province.
The slain terrorists were accused of carrying out an armed attack on security forces and civilians and planting an improvised explosive device (IED) on the Gwadar-Hashab (M-8) road. The ISPR said that as the security forces were in the process of evacuating the hideouts of 12-14 terrorists after identifying them, the terrorists opened fire on the security forces. During the heavy exchange of fire between the two, 10 terrorists were killed, while one terrorist was captured in an injured condition and two terrorists managed to escape.
The statement did not specify which organization the slain terrorists belonged to. Let us tell you that last Saturday, the media wing of the army had announced that it had killed nine terrorists belonging to the banned insurgent Baloch Republican Army (BRA) in Kohlu area of the province. The security forces also arrested three injured terrorists.
Hoshab has been at the center of a militant clean-up operation by security forces in recent weeks. Last week, security forces killed two terrorists of a banned outfit at different places in Hoshab's Balor area. On November 20, Pakistani army had killed two terrorists in this area.
