Gujarat Election: 112 company of Central Force deployed for second phase of polling, flag march at sensitive places

A meeting of police officers was held in Ahmedabad today regarding the second phase of Gujarat Assembly Elections 2022.
SponsoredGujarat Election 2022: In the second phase of the Gujarat Assembly Elections 2022, voting will be held on a total of 93 seats on Monday i.e. 5th December. In view of this, a meeting of police officers was held in Ahmedabad today. After the meeting, DCP Komal Vyas told that more than 10,000 man power, about 6,000 home guards, 112 companies of Central Force have been deployed here for the second phase of voting. He said that route march and flag march are being done at sensitive places.
Police Deployed With Promptness
On the preparations for the second phase of Gujarat assembly elections, DCP Komal Vyas of Ahmedabad said that in view of the second phase of Gujarat elections, vehicle checking is also being done at various places. He said that the police have been deployed with promptness to ensure that everyone can vote in a fair manner. At the same time, Chief Fire Officer, Ahmedabad Anirudh Gadhvi told that wherever there may be traffic, we have discussed with the traffic management for an alternative route. Along with this, the officers of the fire department will also be ready. He said that emergency evacuation plan has also been prepared.
In 2017, BJP won 51 out of 93 seats
In the second phase of Gujarat elections, voting will be held on 93 assembly seats in 14 central and northern districts on Monday. In the 2017 elections, the ruling BJP had won 51 of these seats. At the same time, Congress won 39 seats and independent candidates won three seats. BJP won 37 seats in central Gujarat. Congress got 22 seats. But, in North Gujarat, the Congress won 17 seats. Whereas, BJP got 14 seats. The 93 assembly constituencies that will go to polls on Monday are spread across Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Gandhinagar and other districts.
833 candidates in fray in second phase
In the second phase, 833 candidates from 61 political parties are in the fray. According to the state election body, the candidates also include 285 independents. BJP and Aam Aadmi Party are contesting on all 93 seats. Whereas, Congress is contesting on 90 seats and its ally NCP has fielded candidates on two seats. Among other parties, Bharatiya Tribal Party has fielded 12 candidates and BSP has fielded 44 candidates.
These veterans are contesting in the second phase
Some important constituencies in the second phase include Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel's Ghatlodia, BJP leader Hardik Patel's Viramgam and Gandhinagar South. From where BJP's Alpesh Thakor is contesting. Besides, Dalit leader Jignesh Mevani is contesting as Congress candidate from Vadgam seat in Banaskantha district and Leader of Opposition in Gujarat Assembly Sukhram Rathwa is contesting from Jetpur in Chhota Udaipur district. BJP rebel Madhu Srivastava is contesting as an independent candidate from Waghodia seat in Vadodara district.
