ASI and Jail Superintendent will be interrogated, who declared Pankaj Mishra innocent

After investigating the case registered against Pankaj Mishra at Barharwa police station, ASI Sarfuddin declared all the allegations against him wrong in the investigation report.

At the same time, Birsa Munda Central Jail Superintendent Hamid Akhtar has also been directed to appear on December 5 for providing illegal facilities in the jail. Notice has been issued to the Jail Superintendent for the second time and Sarfuddin Khan for the first time. On the other hand, ED has also started probing Pankaj Mishra's stay in RIMS till now. To investigate the matter, a team of ED reached RIMS at around 2 pm on Sunday. On behalf of RIMS, information was sought regarding the discharge of Pankaj Mishra and information about it to the jail administration.
Superintendent will be questioned on facilities being given to Pankaj in jail
After investigating the case registered against Pankaj Mishra at Barharwa police station, ASI Sarfuddin declared all the allegations against him wrong in the investigation report. ED is informed that the investigating officer ignored the technical and scientific aspects in the cases registered against Pankaj Mishra to declare him innocent. During the investigation of illegal mining, ED has found that there was a dispute in the tender related to the matter of capturing the toll of Barharwa Panchayat. To send the minerals extracted from illegal mining under this panchayat to the main road, one has to pass through the Barharwa toll. Pankaj Mishra and his related people wanted to take over the toll with the help of tender so that there would be no problem in transportation.
Documents not given to ED team reached RIMS
Here, EDI's tome reached RIMS on Sunday, due to the closure of the office, the documents related to it were not received. The RIMS administration has said to give the documents related to discharging Pankaj Mishra and informing the jail on Monday. On the other hand, the jail administration says that in the information sent by RIMS in connection with Pankaj Mishra, it has been suggested to take him to the drug de-addiction center. In the light of this information given by RIMS, the jail administration had tried to take him to CIP last days. But he didn't go. He will be taken to CIP again on Monday. It is noteworthy that Pankaj Mishra was summoned on July 19 during the investigation of the illegal mining case. ED had arrested him on the very first day of questioning. After this, as per the order of the court, they started questioning by taking him on remand. Meanwhile, due to ill health, he was admitted to the trauma center of RIMS. Later he was sent to the paying ward of RIMS. He has been living in RIMS since July in the name of treatment. ED also probed his activities during his stay in RIMS. It was found that while living in RIMS, he talked to senior officials on the phone.
