IND vs BAN: Team India got another big blow after defeat from Bangladesh, ICC imposed heavy fine

The Indian team led by Rohit Sharma has suffered another major setback after the defeat in the first ODI against Bangladesh.

India suffered a one-wicket defeat at the hands of Bangladesh in the first ODI on Sunday. In a thrilling match, Bangladesh won the lost game with the help of Mehdi Hasan Miraj. Team India has suffered another setback after this defeat. The ICC has fined the Indian team led by Rohit Sharma for slow over-rate. The ICC has imposed a fine of 80 percent of the match fee.

Fined 80 percent of the match fee

International Cricket Council (ICC) panel match referee Ranjan Madugalle imposed this fine. India had reduced four overs in the stipulated time. According to Article 2.22 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel relating to slow over rate, players are fined 20 percent of their match fees per over for not completing the over in the stipulated time.

Rohit Sharma accepted the fine

According to the ICC statement, Indian captain Rohit Sharma has accepted this fine and hence there was no need for further hearing in this matter. On-field umpires Michael Gough and Tanveer Ahmed, third umpire Sharfuddaulah Ibne Shahid and fourth umpire Ghazi Sohail accused the Indian team of slow over-rate. The second ODI between the two teams will be played on Wednesday.

India has lagged behind in the series

India has trailed 0-1 in this three-match series. In the next match, Team India will try to win the match and equalize in the series. Talking about the match, India scored 186 runs while batting first. Indian batsman looked helpless in front of Bangladeshi spinner Shakib Al Hasan. Shakib took five wickets. In response, Indian bowlers also performed well and took 9 wickets of Bangladesh when they needed 51 runs to win. But the result was not in favor of India.
