Russia's Foreign Ministry said in a statement that the deputy prime minister welcomed India's decision not to support the imposition of a price cap on Russian oil, which was announced on December 5 by the G7 countries and their allies. Earlier in September, the G-7 countries had agreed to impose a price cap on oil imports from Russia.
According to the statement, Novak said that Russia is fully responsible for its obligations for the supply of energy resources and exporting energy to the countries of the East-South amid the energy crisis. The statement of the Russian Foreign Ministry said that in the first eight months of the year 2022, Russian oil imports to India increased to 16.35 million tonnes. Notably, India continued to import oil from Russia despite the Ukraine War.Β Β

During a meeting with Indian Ambassador Pavan Kapoor, Novak invited Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri to participate in the international forum 'Russian Energy Week 2023'. It will be held in Moscow from October 11-13 next year.
