Railway officials said that the Railway Protection Force has started an investigation into the matter.

Someone pelted stones at the Vande Bharat train in Chhattisgarh on Wednesday evening. Due to this, the glass of the window of the train was damaged. However, there was no harm to the passengers. On receiving the information, RPF jawans reached the spot and started investigating the matter. Four days back, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had flagged off the Nagpur-Bilaspur Vande Bharat train.

According to information, someone pelted stones when the train had reached between Durg and Bhilai stations under Raipur division of South East Central Railway (SECR) on Wednesday evening. The stone hit the window of E-1 coach and it got damaged. Immediately after the incident, it was informed to RPF. After which the jawans reached the spot. This semi-high speed train was coming from Nagpur to Bilaspur.

Railway officials said that the Railway Protection Force has started an investigation into the matter. Prima facie, some mischievous element is involved in this. The Vande Bharat Express train between Nagpur in Maharashtra and Bilaspur in Chhattisgarh is the sixth service in the country. It was launched by Prime Minister Modi on December 11 in Nagpur. Since then this train is running six days a week except Saturday. 

Passengers are getting better and better facilities by running Vande Bharat train. IRCTC has fixed chair car fare from Bilaspur to Nagpur at Rs 1,077 for AC-II, Rs 2,045 for executive class. The train has 16 coaches which include 14 chair cars and 2 executive chair cars. The total seating capacity is 1128.
