Indian Navy: Kalvari class submarine yard 11879 handed over to Navy, India's strength at sea increased

The submarines are being built at Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited Mumbai in collaboration with M/s Naval Group, France.

The fifth Kalvari class submarine of Project 75, Yard 11879, was handed over to the Navy today, the Indian Navy said on Tuesday. Officials said, under Project 75, indigenous construction of six submarines of Scorpene design is involved.

Manufacturing of submarines is being done at Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited Mumbai in collaboration with France. Navy officials told that the submarine will soon be inducted into the Indian Navy. This will further increase the strength of the Indian Navy.
