Tata group tycoon and former director of Tata Sons RK Krishnakumar passed away in Mumbai on Sunday following a heart attack. He breathed his last at the age of 84. Krishnakumar was considered one of Ratan Tata's trusted aides. Krishnakumar, who was a close associate of Ratan Tata, chairman emeritus of Tata Sons, was involved in Tata's consultancy firm, RNT Associates, and the group's charitable trusts, which hold 66 per cent stake in Tata Sons, the holding company of the Tata group.
Ratan Tata expressed grief
Speaking on his death, Ratan Tata expressed grief that my friend and colleague R.K. Words cannot describe the loss I feel on Krishnakumar's demise. I will always remember the camaraderie that we shared within the group and individually. He was a true stalwart of the Tata Group and Tata Trusts and will be missed by all.
Tata Sons chairman also expressed grief
Tata Sons chairman N Chandrasekaran said Krishna Kumar was a stalwart and dedicated member of Tata who made immense contribution to the Tata group during his lifetime. I had the privilege of knowing him and what set him apart was that he always wanted to help the less privileged and make a positive impact on their lives. We pray for his departed soul and we will miss him.
