Rishabh Pant, who was a victim of a road accident, is undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Mumbai. He had a successful knee surgery on Friday. Sources have confirmed this to news agency ANI. At present, Pant is under the supervision of the medical team and his health is improving rapidly. He had suffered serious injuries in a car accident near Roorkee.

He was going from Delhi to Roorkee in his private car and was driving himself. The 25-year-old batsman himself broke the wind screen and managed to get out of the car, showing fighting spirit like in the field. After this the car caught fire. Many people had come to meet Pant

After the accident, Pant was shifted to a private hospital in Dehradun after first aid in Roorkee itself. After this, the BCCI had instructed DDCA to remain in constant touch with Pant and asked to monitor his condition. DDCA chief Shyam Sharma himself had come to meet Pant. Apart from this, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami had also reached the hospital to meet Pant.

Was shifted to Mumbai on January 4

On January 4, the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) took a big decision and shifted Pant to Mumbai for treatment. He was airlifted. The BCCI had informed that Pant had two cuts on his head. He has torn ligaments in his right knee and also has injuries to his right wrist, ankle, toe. Also, there is an abrasion injury on his back. There are speculations that BCCI wants to see Pant fit as soon as possible in view of the upcoming ODI World Cup.ย 

Doubt on playing in IPL 2023

Pant had reached Dubai after playing the Test series against Bangladesh. From there he came to Delhi on December 29 and from there he was going to his home in Roorkee in a private car. Pant was not included in the Indian squads for the T20 and ODI series against Sri Lanka. Now after the injury, there is doubt on Pant's Test series against Australia and playing in IPL 2023. According to media reports, it may take four to six months for Pant to recover completely.
