The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has taken a tough stand on recent incidents in aircraft. DGCA has issued a show cause notice to the Accountable Manager of Air India. The DGCA has asked why action should not be taken against airlines for flouting regulatory obligations.
According to the DGCA, there were two incidents of misbehavior by passengers on the Paris-New Delhi flight on December 6, 2022. They were brought to the notice of DGCA. In the first incident, a passenger was caught smoking in the toilet. He was intoxicated and did not listen to the crew. Another incident pertains to another passenger allegedly urinating on an empty seat and blanket of a fellow female passenger when she went to the toilet.
DGCA has issued a show cause notice to the Accountable Manager of Air India as to why enforcement action should not be taken against him for dereliction of his regulatory obligations relating to the misbehavior of passengers on the Paris-New Delhi flight on 6 December 2022.
