The way for the new residence of the Prime Minister being built under Central Vista in Delhi is now clear. After getting the green signal from Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in the matter, now the way has become easier for the nation to get the new Prime Minister's residence soon. This executive enclave is being built on plot number 36/38 in the southern direction of South Block, which falls in the highly secured Lutyens' Zone of Delhi.

It is noteworthy that the Central Public Works Department, which is constructing the Prime Minister's Enclave including Central Vista, has asked the Delhi government to purchase 173 padas for this.Permission was sought to transplant from the site under construction.

The Kejriwal government has approved the project on the condition that the agency doing the construction will have to plant 10 times more trees than what is being transplanted.

Prime Minister's Residence, Prime Minister's Office, Cabinet Secretariat,India House and the National Security Council Secretariat will be part of this executive enclave, which is expected to be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 1,189 crore.
