A top Army official said that no change has been made in the syllabus or test pattern of the online Common Entrance Examination (CEE).

Director General of Recruiting in the Indian Army, Lt Gen NS Sarna said that the new recruitment process will have an online test and students who clear it will be called for the rally and those who clear the rally will be called for the medical. Lieutenant General NS Sarna told that the examination will be held at 176 places. The candidate will have the option to choose any of the 05 locations. One of those places will be their exam center. According to Lieutenant General NS Sarna, whatever recruitment will be done in the army now, it will be under this process. Be it Agniveer, Women's Army Recruitment or any other recruitment. No change has been made in the syllabus. Registration will be from February 16 to March 15, the exam will be held in the end of April.

Application fee

The cost of fee for Online CEE is Rs.500 per candidate. Where 50 percent of the cost will be borne by the Indian Army. He said that the candidates would have to pay Rs 250 during the online registration of the application. The ministry had earlier said in a statement that the changed process would focus on enhanced cognitive aspects during recruitment and result in wider and better outreach across the country. It will also reduce the large crowd admitted in the rallies and administrative commitments in their conduct besides reducing the number of candidates going for medical examination.

These candidates will get bonus marks

The ministry had earlier said that the computer-based online CEE is planned to be held from April 17 to 30 at 175 to 180 exam centers across India. Army DG-Recruitment said "bonus marks" will be given to candidates who are 10th pass and have completed two years course of ITI, and those who have done NCC and have A, B or C certificates, There are excellent sportsmen, and also diploma holders.

Recruitment in three phases

The army had recently taken out advertisements in various newspapers regarding changes in the recruitment process. The recruitment will be done in three phases, the statement said. In phase one, all the candidates who have registered and applied online will undergo CEE. In Phase II, the shortlisted candidates will be called for recruitment rally at the venue to be decided by the respective Army Recruiting Offices, where they will undergo Physical Fitness Test and Physical Measurement Test. Finally in the third stage there will be medical test of the selected candidates.

He said that educational videos on 'How to Register' and 'How to Appear' in the Online Entrance Test have been uploaded on the Join Indian Army website and YouTube.

In a statement on February 16, the Defense Ministry said, the Army has announced amendments to the recruitment process for "Junior Commissioned Officers/Other Ranks/Aginvir".
