Air India will recruit 5100 cabin crew-pilots in 2023, plans to take 36 aircraft on lease

Air India plans to hire 4,200 new cabin crew trainees and 900 pilots in 2023 as the airline inducts new aircraft, said a release issued by Air India on Friday.

Tata Group-owned airline Air India is expanding its fleet and operations. In this series, the airline plans to recruit over 4,200 cabin crew and 900 pilots this year. The announcement comes at a time when the airline has placed orders for 470 aircraft, including 70 widebody aircraft, from Boeing and Airbus.

The airline also plans to take 36 aircraft on lease. Two of them B777-200LR have already been inducted.

Employed more than 900 cabin crew. In the last seven months (between July 2022 and January 2023), more than 1,000 crew members have been trained and in the last three months, the airline has released around 500 crew members to fly, the release said. Have doneΒ

The induction of new talent will accelerate the pace of cultural change in the airline and the airline is also looking to increase the recruitment of pilots and maintenance engineers.
