NEET PG 2023 Postponement Plea Rejected by Supreme Court : The Supreme Court has rejected the petitions demanding postponement of NEET PG 2023 entrance exam. The petitioners had sought postponement of NEET PG 2023, to be held on March 5, to a later date. Their argument was that there is not enough time to prepare for the exam. The petitioners said that if NEET PG is conducted on March 5, then the counseling can begin only after August 11, which is the cut-off date for internships.
Said that usually the gap between the internship deadline and the exam is never more than two months. On the other hand, ASG Aishwarya Bhati, on behalf of the central government, said that only 6,000 students applied during the second window and the remaining 2.03 lakh applicants submitted forms in the first window. Only a few candidates are demanding adjournment.
The Supreme Court heard the NEET PG 2023 stay petitions on Monday, February 27, 2023, and dismissed all the petitions. During the last hearing, NBE i.e. National Board of Examination informed the Supreme Court that 2.09 lakh students have registered for NEET PG and if the exam is postponed, the date for conducting the exam may not be available in the near future. Because many exams are scheduled one after the other.
On the other hand, the petitioners said that even if NEET PG is conducted on March 5, the counseling can start only after August 11, which is the cut-off date for internships. The candidates were demanding to postpone the exam for at least two to three months.
NEET PG 2023 Admit Card
As per the official schedule of the National Board of Examinations after the Supreme Court's decision, the NEET PG exam will be conducted on Sunday, March 5, 2023. Whereas, the admit card of NEET PG 2023 is to be issued on Monday, February 27, 2023. As per the official notification, NEET PG admit card will be made available at nbe.edu.in.
NEET PG 2023 Internship Deadline
The deadline for NEET PG 2023 internship was extended thrice by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. As per the main notification bulletin, the internship cut off was March 31, 2023. Later it was extended to June 30, 2023. However, later amid protests and demands to postpone the exam, the Union Health Ministry extended the internship cut-off date i.e. the deadline to complete it till August 11, 2023.
