The career of two bowlers running out of the Indian cricket team is now considered to be over.
On Sunday, March 26, the BCCI released the list of annual contracts of the players. Many senior players have failed to make a place in this list, while some youngsters have been rewarded for their good performance. Ravindra Jadeja has got a place in the A+ category along with Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah. Hardik Pandya has also managed to make it to A from C category.
Out of the latest released annual contract of BCCI, the name of senior is in discussion. Earlier, he was given a place in the C category. Ishant Sharma, who has been part of only the Test team for the last few years, has been kept out of the contract this time. Another bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who was only part of the T20 squad due to injury, has also been left out.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar returned to the T20 team after being injured for a long time. He also made a place in the T20 World Cup team held in Australia last year. His name was also in the team that went on a tour of New Zealand after the T20 World Cup. Bhuvneshwar Kumar has not played any match since this tour of November 2022. And he played the last ODI in January 2022.
Talking about Ishant Sharma, the bowler's career is also on the verge of ending due to injury. The bowler, who has been battling fitness problems for a long time, last played a Test match at home in November 2021. Since then till now he is struggling to make a place in the team. After being out of contract, now his career should be considered over. Earlier his name was included in B category.
Ishant Sharma has played 105 Test matches for India. During this, he has taken 311 wickets and his best has been 7 wickets for 74 runs. After playing 80 ODIs, Ishant took a total of 115 wickets. Whereas in 14 T20s, he has only 8 wickets in his name.
