Kolkata: A woman addicted to alcohol gave birth to a child in the toilet, threw it out of the window into the drain

A surprising case has come to light in Kolkata. Actually here a woman gave birth to a child in the toilet of her house, then broke the window of the toilet and threw it outside in the drain. When the people around saw this, they informed the police. After which the police admitted the child to the hospital, where the child died the next day during treatment.

The woman has been identified as Nikola Stanislaus (32). Police said that the woman had gone to the toilet at around 4.30 pm on Saturday. During this she gave birth to a child. The woman did not understand anything due to the sudden birth of the child and broke the window of the toilet and threw the child from the window into the drain. When the local people heard the sound of breaking the window, they saw that the woman was throwing something from the window.

On this the local people went near the drain and saw a newborn child in the drain. On this, the local people informed the police. After getting the information, the police reached the spot, took the child out of the drain and admitted him to the hospital. The child's condition was critical and he died on Sunday morning during treatment.

The woman told why she threw the child in the drain

During police interrogation, Nikola said that she did not know about her pregnancy as she had been menstruating for the past several months. Nikola told that when she went to the toilet and the child was born, she could not understand what to do and in this confusion, she broke the window and threw the child in the drain.

Police said that the accused woman Nikola and her husband were living in a live-in relationship since June 2022. Both of them got married in November last year. Both are addicted to alcohol. Police say that the mental condition of the accused woman is not good and has been talking very little for the last two to three months. Doctors say that the child was born in seven months and suffered an injury during pregnancy itself, due to which the woman was bleeding and the woman mistook this blood for menstruation. The police have registered a case against the woman under section 315 of the IPC. The woman has also accepted her crime.
