Narendra Modi is on a two-day inland tour from April 24. Prime Minister Modi will be on a tour of Dadra Nagar Haveli and Daman today. PM Modi will inaugurate the Namo Medical Education and Research Institute at Sayli in Silvassa, the capital of the Union Territory of Dadra-Nagar Haveli today.
PM Modi had laid the foundation of Namo Medical College
The foundation stone of Namo Medical College was also laid by the Prime Minister himself in January 2019. This medical college is spread over 35 acres and has been built at a cost of Rs 203 crore. It consists of 13 buildings. Presently 682 students from Dadra Nagar Haveli, 272 from Daman and Diu, 35 from Gujarat and 92 students from other states or under ex-servicemen and coast guard quota are enrolled in the college.
Will address public meeting in Sayli
After inaugurating the college, PM Modi will visit the campus and address a public meeting at Sayli. Thereafter, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone at Sayali Ground and dedicate to the nation 96 projects worth over Rs 4,850 crore. These projects include government schools at Morkhal, Kherdi, Sindoni and Masat in Dadra and Nagar Haveli district; Beautification, Strengthening and Widening of various roads in Dadra and Nagar Haveli District; Government Schools at Ambawadi, Pariyari, Damanwada, Khariwad and Government Engineering College at Daman; Fish market and shopping complex at Moti Daman and Nani Daman and extension of water supply scheme at Nani Daman and others.
PM Modi will do road show in Daman
After this PM will go to Daman via helicopter and will do road show from 6.10 pm to 6.50 pm. PM Modi's roadshow will start from Chhapli Sheri and end at Devka Beach.
The Prime Minister will dedicate the Devka Seafront in Daman to the nation. The 5.45-km beach, built at a cost of about Rs 165 crore, is a one-of-a-kind beach resort in the country. This seafront is expected to boost the local economy and attract more tourists to the area, making it a center for leisure and entertainment activities. The seafront has been converted into a world class tourist destination. It includes provision for smart lighting, parking facilities, gardens, food stalls, recreational areas and a luxury tent city in the future.
Will inaugurate 'Water Metro Rail Service'
PM Modi will inaugurate
India's first 'Water Metro Rail Service' in Kerala before going to Dadra Nagar Haveli and Daman. The service starting between Kochi and ten nearby islands is considered very useful for such cities, where there are many obstacles in the traditional metro rail. The Rs 1,136 crore project is being touted as a dream project for Kerala. It will be able to promote economic activities in the city through public transport and tourism.
In fact, the government is choosing its options carefully when it comes to providing infrastructure and transport. He believes, one type of solution cannot be useful for every city. It will be fully air-conditioned like a metro train and will run daily for 12 hours at an interval of 15 minutes. Right now there are 23 boats and 14 terminals in the beginning. At the same time, 50 to 100 passengers can sit in each metro.
PM Modi will also lay the foundation stone of 'Digital Science Park'
India's first Digital Science Park is going to be built in Kerala. Its foundation stone will be laid by PM Modi on 25 April. A government release said the third-generation science park would come up at Technopark Phase IV- Technocity close to the Digital University of Kerala. It is a Rs 1,500 crore project.
