He said evidence has shown that so far in FY 2023 and FY 2024, several petitions have been filed to investigate fraud in the lottery system of H-1B visas. How is the fraud happening

USCIS said that the number of applications under the H-1B visa lottery system is increasing every year. So far this year, 7,80,884 applications have been received in the lottery system. Whereas last year this figure was 4,83,927 and the year before that it was 3,01,447. Usually this increase is due to multiple registrations done by the same applicant. This year there has been an increase of 4 lakh applications in registration due to multiple applications by one applicant. Whereas last year this increase was 1,65,180.

The federal agency has warned applicants that if the information provided by them or the company is found to be incorrect and if any mistake is made during registration, the application will be rejected. USCIS also said that they are also preparing to implement the law to deal with such cases so that action can be taken according to the law.
