Arun Gandhi was the son of Manilal Gandhi, the second son of Mahatma Gandhi.

Arun Manilal Gandhi, the grandson of Mahatma Gandhi, passed away at the age of 89 in Kolhapur, Maharashtra. Arun Gandhi's son Tushar Gandhi gave this information by tweeting on Tuesday. It has been told that Arun Gandhi was ill for the last several days. Tushar Gandhi told that his father's last rites will be performed in Kolhapur today itself.

Who is Arun Manilal Gandhi?

Arun Manilal Gandhi is the son of Manilal Gandhi, the second son of Mahatma Gandhi. He was born on 14 April 1934 in Durban, South Africa. His father was the editor of Indian Opinion, a newspaper published here, while his mother was a publisher in the same newspaper. Arun Gandhi later followed the path of his grandfather and worked as an activist on socio-political issues.



Arun Gandhi has also written some books. Among them The Gift of Anger: And Other Lessons from My Grandfather Mahatma Gandhi is prominent. Arun Gandhi settled in America with his family in 1987. Here he spent many years of his life in Memphis, Tennessee. Here he also established an institute related to non-violence at Christian Brothers University.
