In view of the Orange Alert of the Meteorological Department, the Kedarnath Yatra has been postponed on Wednesday. The journey has been stopped from Rishikesh, Srinagar itself. The Director General of Police has appealed to the passengers for cooperation in view of the bad weather.

The Meteorological Department has issued an alert for snowfall in the hilly areas of Uttarakhand as well as in the Char Dhams on Wednesday. Orange alert of heavy rain and snowfall has been issued by the Meteorological Department in Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Bageshwar and Pithoragarh. Superintendent of Police Dr. Vishakha Ashok Bhadane told that police have stopped thousands of passengers in Rudraprayag, Tilwara, Phata, Sonprayag.

Booking for Kedarnath Heli Yatra will open today: IRCTC portal will open on Wednesday for Kedarnath Heli service in Chardham Yatra. Under this, booking will be done for May 8, 9 and 10.

9000 passengers went to Kedarnath on Tuesday: 9000 passengers left for Kedarnath from Sonprayag from 6 am to 10.30 am. While 4500 passengers were stopped.
