Joshimath: Meeting in Delhi on the issue of Joshimath today, relief package for reconstruction may be sealed

In Uttarakhand, the people of the landslide-affected area in Joshimath of Chamoli district can get immediate relief. In this regard, a meeting has been organized by the Central Government in New Delhi on Wednesday. It is possible that in this meeting a decision will be taken on the relief package for the reconstruction of Joshimath. The state government has demanded about three thousand crore rupees from the center as a relief package.

Post-Disaster Needs Assessment (PDNA), experts from scientific institutions and officials of the Uttarakhand State Disaster Management Authority have been called in the meeting to be chaired by Additional Secretary, National Disaster Management Authority in New Delhi.

Secretary Disaster Management Dr. Ranjit Sinha has confirmed this. Recently, the Post-Disaster Needs Assessment (PDNA) team from the Center stayed in Joshimath for four days and closely assessed the affected area and submitted the report to the Centre. According to sources in the government, a decision on the relief package is to be taken on the basis of this report.
